Henry Garcia Commits to West Virginia Wesleyan College — A Story Six Years in the Making

Dutch FC is proud to announce that Henry Garcia, a member of the 2008 Boys Ajax team, has committed to play collegiate soccer at West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) beginning Fall 2026. Henry’s journey at Dutch FC is one that reflects everything the club stands for — patience, development, adversity, and growth. From Plano Division 3 to WVWC: Henry joined Dutch FC in 2020 as an intermediate-level player coming out of the Plano Division 3 recreational league. He had raw potential but needed time, structure, and the right environment to grow. Over six years, he did exactly that — steadily building his technical foundation, his competitive edge, and his character. By the time the 2025–2026 season concluded, Henry had become one of the most important players on the 2008 Boys Ajax team — a player the club relied on at both ends of the field. A Championship Season: This past year, the 2008 Boys Ajax team finished 1st place in the NPL (National Premier League) — a remarkable achievement in a division that included ECNL RL NTX programs. Henry Garcia was a key contributor to that title run. A Special Connection to WVWC: West Virginia Wesleyan College is the same school where Dutch FC Founder and Executive Director Wilco Ravestijn played collegiate soccer, won a national championship, and developed the coaching philosophy he brought back to Texas. It is also the alma mater of Colin Rocke, Dutch FC’s Director of Club Growth and Elite Platforms. “We are extremely proud of Henry representing Dutch FC at West Virginia Wesleyan College. It’s a big adventure and responsibility that Henry is about to embark on, but I have no doubt he has the grit and determination to do very well in Buckhannon. Henry has developed into a strong technical and creative player. The biggest thing that I am proud of is his mentality in becoming a team player and not just playing for himself. He has great heart and drive — I’m very proud of him.” — Wilco Ravestijn, Founder & Executive Director, Dutch FC. A Word from WVWC: “We are excited to add Henry to our recruiting class of 2026. I look forward to his continued growth and development.” — Glenn Francis, West Virginia Wesleyan College. The 2008 Boys age group holds a special place in Dutch FC history — the founding class that started the club with just four recreational players in 2018. His commitment to WVWC follows Brody Ballenger’s commitment to Central Baptist College earlier this year, and more announcements from this founding class are expected. A Word from Henry: “I’m very grateful for Dutch FC and all the time I’ve spent at the club which has helped prepare me for this opportunity. I’m ready to work hard and do my best on and off the field.” — Henry Garcia. Congratulations, Henry. From Orange Dutch Lion to Orange Bobcat. #DutchFC | #CompeteForGlory | #CollegePlacement
